September's Project

This will probably take more than September to accomplish.  I am working on the November 1926 Needlecraft Magazine doily that was featured on the back cover of the Helping Hands Newsletter of Fall 2013.   What are you creating or working on?

Apron Edging

A very simple edging against a beautiful apron fabric can add just enough embellishment to make something special  into something very special.

This simple edging is a Ring and Chain repeat.

The Star from figure 69 in the Il Lavoro Chiacchierino Tatting Book # 1.  (Tatted by Rose  Rogers)

Il Lavoro Chiacchierino books 1 - 4 are available online.  They are in Italian text and can be downloaded from this site:

http://www.uloz.to/hledej?q=Il+Lavoro+Chiacchierino+3.rar&related=1

The site is a Czech site, that you can tell your browser to translate for you.

You may need to copy and paste the above link in the address bar of your browser.  You will also need a program that unzips files, such as WinZip (available free online).

These books contain the instructions and photos of some very beautiful tatted items.

The book Snowflake Roses by Denise Munoz is a fun little book with each Rose Center the same.  The outside of each snowflake is made special by different elements, including   an onion ring pattern, dimpled rings and block tatting.  These are very lovely snowflakes you can decorate your home with throughout the winter, or place on a Christmas tree.

I enjoyed tatting the above Snowflake Rose (#6 of 9 different designs).  The pattern was a quick and fun project.  I was able to keep the pattern in mind even with noise in the room.  I highly recommend Denise's booklet of Snowflake Roses to anyone who loves to tat.
